| We first check the fireplace system or wood stove to see if it needs cleaned.
We also check your clearances to combustibles and look for any signs of deterioration or trouble spots.
Sweeping a chimney does not create a mess because we take extra precaution. We protect the floor with a large drop cloth. The soot sweeper with its powerful vacuum and dust free filter and hose will provide a dust and soot free environment. Chimney sweeping remove dangerous, flammable creosote from inside the flue.

Corn and Pellet Stoves and Inserts:
|
Corn and wood pellets burn cleaner than wood, producing very little residue in the vent. However, the vent system and all areas of the stove should be cleaned in the Spring when you are done using it. That way you are ready for next year when the weather turns cold again. Consult your owner's manual for regular maintenance recommendations. |
The National Fire Protection Association recommends chimneys, fireplaces, and vents shall be inspected and/or cleaned at least once a year.
However, some situations require a more frequent cleaning schedule. Types of wood, burning habits, outside temperatures and weather conditions can all have an effect on creosote buildup.
