Ask Ron Starost to describe his business, and his answer is simple: STARS Chimney Service is a family owned & operated service company that provides friendly, honest, reliable service. It is this philosophy that has guided STARS Chimney Service for over 30 years. Ron & Karen Starost founded their company in 1978 when fuel prices were high and people were turning to wood as an alternative source of heat to save on utility bills. Along with the increased use of fireplaces and wood stoves, came the need for keeping the chimneys cleaned and maintained properly. The company known then as The Chimney Sweep Company was the first in northeast Indiana to offer this service. Later the name was changed to Stars Chimney Service to reflect the Starost name and to encompass more than sweeping chimneys.

STARS is a member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild and Ron served on the Board of Directors. STARS is also a member of the Indiana Chimney Sweep Guild where he has served as both President and Vice-President. In 1978, when first starting out he was asked to join the Better Business Bureau of Northeast Indiana and has maintained his membership ever since. It goes back to the company philosophy, “friendly, honest & reliable”.
